Brunswick Ga to just south of Miami, Fl.
All of the time was spent on I-95 until it ran out into 1 We saw a lot of swamp, orange groves, and some other farm work. A lot of bridges, the travel was good until we were about 40 miles north of Miami. We spent the next 2.5 hours in traffic, finally getting south of town and finding a Motel. We did stop at Daytona Beach, saw the Atlantic, and Paul even road his bike on the beach. We had one very severe thunderstorm that played a havoc for about 15 minutes and then it was gone. We are tired but ready to get to our next checkpoint in the morning.
Hi Dr Irwin. Your Mrs. Irwin was in the store tonight and was telling me about your wonderful journey and gave me your blog address. I have read all of your entries and it sure sounds like you guys are having a very interesting time. Did you get to see all the Georgia red clay? I grew up there and there really isn't anything else like it. Hope you both continue to have a safe and fun time. Take care. Lisa G
ReplyDeleteJim and I were in huge thunderstorms in the areas you just rode through--one on the Blue Ridge parkway and another (on a completely different trip) in Homestead FL. It can really rain there. Hope your trip to Key West goes well. We visited there during a bartender's convention--it was the closest I ever came to getting hit by a car--right in downtown KW. That would be just about as far away as you can get from Washington State--from now on you should be getting closer to home. When are you planning on heading through CA? If you need a place to stay--you are always welcome in Redlands. Best wishes,
